Recalled in Japan
to a defect in the Japanese Xbox, Microsoft is recalling all Xbox
units shipped in Japan since the system's launch two weeks
ago. Apparently, the defect causes some of the 250,000 or so
systems shipped to scratch the perimeter of game disks.
Although this is said to not cause any problems while playing, it's
still enough of a concern that Microsoft thought it better to recall
each system. Microsoft will replace each disk drive for free,
with the entire process should take about 7 to 10 days. As of
March 3rd, Microsoft has received 243 customer complaint calls.
