Mortal Kombat Hits 2 Million

Midway announced that Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance has sold over two million copies worldwide. This figure combines the sales from all consoles from the late November 2002 launch to early July 2003.

"Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance took gamers by storm, and these numbers prove the franchise is continuing to define the fighting genre," said Helene Sheeler, vice president of marketing, Midway.

Many saw this installment in the Mortal Kombat series as a new beginning. Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance received an 8.7 rating at XGF and PSGF and swept the Best Fighting Game of 2002 across all platforms in the 2002 VGF Staff Awards.
