San Francisco, CA – August 9, 2004 – Ubisoft, one of the world’s
largest videogame publishers, announced today that Tom Clancy’s
Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow™ for the Xbox® video game system from
Microsoft has shipped for retail. Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, Tom
Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow improves upon one of the most
successful Xbox™ Live games of all time with new single- and
multiplayer missions and modes, split-screen for cooperative
gameplay, and a host of new features that maximize the possibilities
of Xbox Live. In fact, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow is the
one of the first games to deliver new Xbox Live features, such as
user-created tournaments, in-game messenging, and clan statistics.
Rated ‘M’ for Mature, the game carries an MSRP of $39.99.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow continues in the vein of last
year’s mega-hit, which received a number of awards, including
Console First-Person Action Game of the Year from the Academy of
Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS), Shooter of the Year from GMR
Magazine, and Best First-Person Shooter and Best Online Game from
IGN. In the game, players command a four-man international
anti-terrorist squad comprised of the cream of the crop from the
United States, Germany, Britain, and France as they infiltrate a
ring of nefarious terrorists and halt their bloody quest for weapons
and power. The popular voice-activated command system, individual
personalities of the team members, and comprehensive Xbox Live
multiplayer capabilities will be familiar to current devotees, while
the new missions and features will attract a new crop of players.
“With eagerly-anticipated new multiplayer modes, a host of new Xbox
Live features and fourteen multiplayer maps, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow
Six 3 Black Arrow takes last year’s best Xbox Live experience – and
most successful title – and makes it even better,” said Tony Kee,
vice president of marketing for Ubisoft. “What’s more, a new
split-screen feature for offline co-op play and enhanced AI
significantly enhances the offline replay value. Gamers, close the
curtains and kiss your loved ones goodbye, because you’re not going
to be able to put this one down for months.”
